Nicholas Elliott’s translations include A Life in Letters by Simone Weil (Harvard University Press), Footlights by Serge Daney (Semiotext(e)), Diary of a Film by Jean Cocteau (The Film Desk), and two previous volumes by William Marx, The Hatred of Literature (Harvard) and The Tomb of Oedipus (Verso). From 2009 to 2020, he was a US correspondent for French film magazine Cahiers du Cinéma; his writing on film has also appeared in BOMB magazine and 4Columns, amongst others. He often participates in theatre projects between the US and France, working in various capacities with Richard Maxwell/New York City Players, The Wooster Group, Alice Diop, David Geselson, and Pascal Rambert.
