Elsa Shao pursued studies in Literature and earned a degree in Philosophy from the Sorbonne, completing her education at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She works in the cultural sector, specialising in artistic and historical mediation. She has co-translated with Shao Baoqing two novels by Xi Dong into French: Destin trafiqué (Actes Sud, 2022) and Échos (Actes Sud, 2025). She is co-translating with Shao Baoqing essays by Shi Zhecun (forthcoming).
