Chris Turner

Translator and writer

Chris Turner studied Modern Languages at the University of Cambridge and went on to gain a doctorate at the University of Sussex for a study of the discourse of the French extreme right in the inter-war years. In his illustrious career as a translator, he has rendered into English works by Yves Bonnefoy, Pascal Quignard, Marguerite Duras, Georges Bataille, Jean Baudrillard, Paul Virilio, André Gorz, Marc Augé, Jean-Paul Sartre, Étienne Balibar, Bruno Latour and Roland Barthes, amongst others. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, The New Statesman and Cultural Politics.
