Mingyuan Hu studied Classics, Philosophy, and Art History and graduated first from the University of Glasgow, where she also gained a doctorate in Literary History. As an historian of art, literature and ideas, she held teaching and research positions at the University of Glasgow, the University of Leeds, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Humboldt University of Berlin. She is the biographer of Fou Lei, and a translator between the French, English, and Chinese languages.
