Song Gang is a Zhuangzi scholar, having studied and then taught at the École normale supérieure de Paris. He has translated into Chinese authors such as Émil Cioran, Jean-François Billeter and Philippe Descola. In 2024, he co-translated into French Le Détachement féminin rouge (The Red Detachment of Women), a novella by Jiang Yun. With Romain Graziani, he also co-translates fragments from Hu Shih’s autobiography and foundational texts by Liang Qichao, forthcoming from Hermits United.
